Comic Con 2012 News Recap

Lots were revealed at last weekends San Diego Comic-Con. Some of which were the titles of the Thor & Captain America sequels, the announcement of two new Marvel films, and the showing of the new armor for Iron Man 3.

Iron Man 3

Ben Kingsley is indeed playing the Mandarin in the film. During the Iron Man 3 sneak peek, he was shown sitting on a throne and had some menacing dialogue. The final part of the sneak peek showed him putting on his ten rings. I have no idea where the sneek peek is, but the moment I find it, i'll post an update here.

Director Shane Black confirms Iron Man 3 will definitely be inspired by Warren Ellis’ “Extremis” story arc, citing it only logical to go in this direction after dealing with an Alien invasion (in The Avengers). Footage shown during the panel featured scenes with an “Extremis”-like armor coming to him through sheer force of will.

Thor 2

Thor sequel will be titled Thor: The Dark World

Director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is supposedly making the film gritty/darker.

I quite like the title of the new film. I like the sound of a dark Thor movie. Maybe it’s just because I like dark movies.

Release date: November 8th 2013

Captain America 2

The Captain America: The First Avenger sequel will be titled, Captain America: The Winter Soldier

While details are extremely scarce, the new title suggests we'll see Bucky make his return as the brainwashed Russian super-spy, Winter Soldier

Release date: April 4, 2014

Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel Studios has released artwork of the Guardians of the Galaxy, confirming Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racoon, and Gamorra as the team for the movie

Set for release August 1, 2014.

Ant Man

Director/writer Edgar Wright premiered a one-minute long test reel showing off his vision for the film that most in attendance adored.

No cast or release date has been announced.

Avengers 2

All I know is that it’s being released in 2015. Also, I saw a comment from someone saying that the Fantastic 4 was going to be in it? I’m not quite sure how I feel about that. I kinda think that’s too much. Also, Chris Evans is one of the Fantastic 4 so I know they can make it work, but I don’t know, it’d just be weird.
